After half an hour of packing necessary items for the beach, the Creepsons were finally in their big, nine seater, dark coloured car, heading to their destination. The whole family were dressed in summer clothing suitable for a day at the beach. Damien, ruby, reddie and Derpy were in the seat way up the back while Adrian and Alice were in two of the seats in the middle while Groana was at the wheel. Ruby was wearing a black and white striped swimsuit and had a red bucket and a green shade with her. Reddie was wearing a pair of black and white striped board shorts and had a watermelon and a baseball bat with him. Damien was wearing a pair of blue board shorts and had a cricket bat and a red ball. Adrian was wearing a black t-shirt, a pair of black broad shorts and had a red umbrella and a bottle of sunblock with him. Alice was wearing a dark blue dress with sandals and had a red beach towel with her. Groana was wearing a plain black T-shirt, black long denim shorts, black shoes, a black and grey hat and had a purple towel and a picnic basket with her.
“Derpy, stop struggling, you have to wear this floaty so you won’t sink in the sea!” Ruby said as she was struggling to Derpy into a black and white floaty.
“No, it makes me look like a fool!” Derpy replied with an angry tone.
“Listen to her, dummy.” Groana added keeping her eyes on the road.
“So what are you kids gonna do when we get to the beach?” Adrian said to his three children.
“I’m going to make a sand castle and teach Derpy how to swim.” Ruby said, much to Derpy’s annoyance.
“I’m going to smash this melon with my lucky bat.” Reddie said.
“And I’m gonna play some cricket!” Damien Added.
“What about you Groana?” Alice asked Groana.
“What about what?” Groana replied.
“What are going to do at Ashburn beach?”
“Well I might just sit over at the beach pool.”
“Ok, but don’t forget to put on some sunblock.” Adrian added.
“I won’t, Master Adrian.” Groana replied.
After forty minutes of driving, they were finally at Ashburn beach. When Groana found a parking spot, she parked the car and everyone climbed out with the items that they all brought with them. As soon they found a spot on the beach, Alice laid her towel down on the sand. Before she could get down on the towel, she noticed Adrian holding a red umbrella over her head.
“Darling, why are you holding an umbrella over me?” she asked.
“Because I don’t want you to burn your beautiful skin, sweetheart.” Adrian answered.
“Oh, why thank you, 情人 (sweetheart).”
“Alice, you never told me you could speak Chinese!” Adrian replied.
“You didn’t? I’ve known how to speak five different languages since I was ten.”
“Maybe you can teach me later.”
“Ok Derpy, let’s go make a sand castle.”  Ruby announced.
“Oh, goody.” Derpy muttered to himself.
“Wait a sec Ruby; we need to put sunblock on you.” Adrian added.
“Oh, but dad!” Ruby protested. Adrian just looked at his daughter with narrow eyes with his left eyebrow raised.
“Fine...” Ruby said, giving in to her father.
“Do you remember that rhyme I Thought you?” Adrian questioned.
“If your skin is not pale by the time your ten, the moon will never shine for you again.” Ruby answered.
“That’s right, now go and build a sand castle so big, a giant could live in it.” Ruby and Derpy then ran to find a spot to build a sand castle.
“Master Adrian, May I have some of that?” Groana asked, holding her hand out.
“Well of course, Groana.” Adrian replied as he put sunblock in Groana’s hand. Groana then used her free hand to grab a book from the basket she and the family brought with them.
“Are you going to catch up on your reading?” Alice asked with curiosity.
“Yes, Mistress Alice.” Groana replied before walking off to the pool area.
Meanwhile, the Children were on different sections of the beach doing their own thing for fun. Ruby and Derpy were making a sand castle near the wall of rocks with plenty of success. After two minutes, the sand castle started to look like Buckingham palace.
“Wow Ruby, that looks just like Buckingham palace!” Said Derpy in awe.
“What’s Buckingham palace?” Ruby asked not knowing what Buckingham palace was. Derpy thought for a moment before he replied.
“Ask your parents later.” Derpy replied unknowing of what else to say.
After five minutes of searching, Reddie finally found a spot where he could smash his watermelon with his lucky baseball bat. The spot was near a group of people who look like they were somewhere in their teen years. Just as Reddie was about polarize the melon one of the teenagers called out to him.
“Hey kid, wait!” A tall male dressed in blue called out. Reddie stoped with the bat in mid-air and froze like a statue.
“Are you gonna smash that watermelon?” the tall teen questioned.
“Yeah; why?” Reddie replied.
“You don’t have cardboard under it, sand will get in the melon and you won’t be able to eat it afterwards.”
“Oh. I forgot about that.”
“I’ll get some for ya.” The teen said before walking back to his little group. A few seconds later, he came back over to Reddie and placed a large piece of cardboard under the melon.
“Ok, now you can smash it.” The teen announced. Reddie lifted his bat high above his head and swinged it down with all his might, smashing the melon into big and little chunks, most of it spreading on the cardboard.
“You want some?” Reddie asked the teen as he picks up a piece.
“Sure.” The Teen said. “Hey, you guys want some watermelon?”
“Sure, Ok.” Half of the teens replied before walking over to sit around the smashed melon and feast on the pieces.
“To smashing!” Reddie yelled as held his piece of watermelon. Everyone sitting with Reddie stared at him with confused looks.
“I got carried away.” He said with a red face.
In a wide open area near the rock where Groana was reading her book, Damien was getting ready to practice his bating skills with his cricket bat and his red boomerang ball. He took every kind of precaution from checking the speed of the wind to measuring the distance of the area.  When he thought he was ready, he threw the ball up into the air, preparing and waiting for it to come down and hit it with all his might. The ball was going so fast it went right through the middle of a tree, leaving a hole in it. Damien watched the ball disappear past the trees to the rock pool area, but he was startled when he heard something that sounded like a shriek in creaky deep female voice. Damien thought it was nothing, until he noticed a figure coming through the trees. The figure came into view and it was Groana. She was holding Damien’s ball in one hand and had a look of pure anger on her face. She began to walk up to Damien, looking like she had a bone to pick with him.
“What is this?” Groana asked, towering over Damien and holding the ball near his head.
“A red ball.” Damien answered with a hint of fear in his voice.
“And this?” She asked, rolling her right sleeve up to reveal a purple marking on her shoulder. Damien took a few seconds to answer.
“A birthmark?” Damien answered with a crack in his voice
“It’s a bruise!” Groana yelled at the top of her lungs, frighting Damien. “That ball of yours hit me right in the arm!”
“I’m sorry, Please don’t kill me or tell my mom!” Damien begged as he got on his knees.
“I’m not going to kill you or tell your mother, but I’m going to give you a warning.” Groana replied while she gave the ball back to Damien. “You better be more careful of where you hit that ball, otherwise people will get hurt, understand?”
Damien just nodded as he took the ball back. Groana also nodded before going back to the rock pool to continue reading her book. After Groana Left, Damien started thinking very hard.
“Well, maybe I should move further away, that might work.” Damien thought to himself as he walked back a few steps. Then he threw the ball up into the air, preparing and waiting for it to come down and hit it with all his might. The ball went through the bushes fast as a bullet with only the rustling of leaves in Damien’s hearing range. That is until he heard a thump and a splash. His eye’s widened after he heard the strange noises, but he became terrified when he heard someone say “He’s not coming back up, someone help him!” He couldn’t take any chances for someone to find out it was him, so without hesitation, he ran as fast as he could in the opposite direction, not bothering to get the ball back.
“If Groana finds out about this she’ll have my head!” Damien thought to himself.

One minute ago

Damien just nodded as he took the ball back. Groana also nodded before going back to the rock pool to continue reading her book. When she got back to the rock pool, Groana sat back into the chair where she left her book before she got hit by the ball.
“I love those three kids, but they are such a handful at times.” Groana thought to herself as she read through the long and word filled pages of her book, not paying attention to anything else.
Just before she could turn to the next page, she heard a thump and a splash. Hearing the strange noises, she lowered her book down to see what was happening. The water in the pool was shimmering implying that something has happened and people with concerned faces were gathering around the pool. Groana did not understand the concept of the situation until a woman shouted “He’s not coming back up, someone help him!” That’s when she realized that someone maybe drowning at the bottom of the pool. Groana Fully reacted to the situation by running up to the pool, shouting for people to get out of the way and diving into the water. Everyone was watching her swim down to the drowning person at the bottom of the pool with full concentration. They all remained silent and held their breath Groana remerged to the surface with a man in her arms. He looked quite skinny with short blond hair, red board shorts and looked like he was in his mid or early twenty’s. Stepping out of the pool, Groana gently laid the man down on the ground and started checking his pulse and leaned down to listen to his airways.
“His airways are blocked, is there any one here who knows how to resuscitate a drown victim?” Groana shouted out loud to all the people, but everyone just looked at each other, implying that none of them knew how.
“Seems I’ll have to do it.” Groana thought to herself. With no to waste she started doing mouth to mouth resuscitation, doing everything required to unblock the man’s airways. After three attempts, the young man coughing and hacking with water out of his mouth. Everyone around them gave a sigh of relief for he was breathing again. The young man sat up, still coughing with one hand over his mouth. When he stopped coughing, he opened his eyes and the first thing he saw was Groana. He couldn’t see her face because her long fringe was in the way. Groana looked at him as well, but she suddenly felt frightened, she got up, ran away and didn’t come back, not even for her book.
“Hey wait; come back!” The young man called out to Groana, wanting to thank her. A woman went over to the young man and helped him off the ground, just when a man came back with the lifeguard.
“I’m here, now where’s the drowning guy?” the lifeguard asked with very little patience.
“Sorry bubby, but you’re too late.” The woman near the young man replied. “The tall gal with the blue hair already-“the woman turned around to point at Groana, but she was no longer here. “Hey, where is she?”
“And who was she?” A man asked.
“I don’t know.” The young man muttered to himself. He turned his head around and he noticed something sitting on one of the seats. He got up, started walking over to the seat and took a closer look at the object. The object was a book, the one the blue haired girl left behind. He picked the book up and looked at the title. “Red knife”
“But I want to know.”
